The Division of Legislative Oversight provides the Legislature with information to improve and enhance the operation of state government.

The Legislative Audit Office conducts impartial and objective performance audits to assess whether state programs adhere to laws, achieve statutory goals, and operate efficiently.

The Office of Inspector General of Nebraska Child Welfare and the Office of Inspector General of the Nebraska Correctional System work to provide increased accountability, oversight, and improvement of the state's child welfare, juvenile justice, and correctional systems by conducting formal investigations and reviews.
