Unicameral Youth Conference

2008 Unicameral Youth Conference

June 8-11

About the Conference: The Unicameral Youth Conference combines a four-day legislative simulation with leadership-building and social activities to help young Nebraskans better understand the workings of our representative democracy. The conference, which is for students ages 14-17, takes place at the Nebraska State Capitol and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The conference is organized by University of Nebraska 4-H and has been supported by AmeriCorp VISTA, the Nebraska Cooperative Extension and the Southeast Research and Extension Center.

The Nebraska Legislature's Warner Institute for Education in Democracy serves as a technical consultant for the Unicameral Youth Conference. The Warner Institute is a program administered by the Unicameral Information Office for the Clerk of the Legislature.

Parents and Teachers: For general questions about the conference, please contact Bob Meduna with UNL 4-H. If you have questions about the legislative simulation, please contact Kate Heltzel at the Unicameral Information Office.
