The 1945 Legislature created a permanent office of Revisor of Statutes. In 1967, the Legislature placed this office within the Legislative Council. The office drafts legislation for the Legislature’s consideration and prepares and publishes replacement volumes of the statutes and supplements. It also reports to the Legislative Council any defects found in state statutes or the Nebraska Constitution and drafts proposed legislation to correct these defects.
