The purpose of LR200 was to study the history and development of the Nebraska Innovation Campus at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.

August 27, 2015
The Appropriations Committee met for the first time on LR200. Staff provided the Committee with background material on the Nebraska Innovation Campus (NIC), what other states are doing, federal research expenditures at the University, and articles and reports on research parks across North America.
Appropriations Committee also drafted questions regarding the NIC for response by the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL) and the Nebraska Innovation Campus Development Corporation (NICDC)
October 9, 2015
The Appropriations Committee met in executive session at the NIC with members of the UNL administration, the NICDC and staff to discuss the issues raised in LR200. UNL and the NICDC provided the committee with the information responding to the issues raised in LR200.
UNL and the NICDC also provided written responses to the committee questions raised at the August 27th meeting.
November 4, 2015
The Appropriations Committee held a public hearing on LR 200.
November 6, 2015
The Appropriations Committee met to discuss what action, if any, the committee should take with regard to LR 200 and the NIC. The committee voted to draft legislation requiring legislative oversight of and reporting requirement for the NIC including metrics and benchmarks.
